AdventHealth Celebrates Volunteers Who Dedicated Thousands of Hours to Community

AdventHealth Hendersonville recently celebrated the incredible team of volunteers who help spread its mission to people coming to the hospital and other facilities. In 2018, more than 75 volunteers gave a total of 13,000 hours of service.

AdventHealth celebrated this incredible group of people for their dedication to patients, guests, and staff at its recent Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet.

“AdventHealth is known by its mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ through wholeperson care – mind, body and spirit. That exceptional experience is made even stronger through the dedication of our wonderful volunteers who support our team members by caring for people on their journeys to feel whole,” said Jimm Bunch, AdventHealth President and CEO.

“The members of the AdventHealth Hendersonville Volunteers Services team are dedicated to the various roles they play, each a vital part of the experience that makes AdventHealth the exemplary choice for care in Western North Carolina,” said Shelby Lands, AdventHealth Volunteer Coordinator.

AdventHealth also acknowledged the following volunteers who gave more than 500 hours during 2018:

– hours Teesa Buckner 798 hours
– Vera Narveson 749 hours
– Yolanda Nedwed 652 hours
– Ron Wells 646 hours
– Jim Braun 502 hours

The evening’s presentations also included the Auxiliary’s check presentation to the AdventHealth Hendersonville Foundation for more than $3,200 to support its annual funding programs. The Auxiliary is able to support the AdventHealth Hendersonville Foundation through services it provides including gift shop sales and its Medical Alert service.
