Celebrate the Season With A Swannanoa Solstice on Sunday, Dec. 16

For sixteen years and counting, A Swannanoa Solstice has welcomed the winter season, delighting local audiences with its world-class display of folk music and becoming a beloved holiday tradition, drawing more devoted fans each year.

Bringing back renowned recording artists Al Petteway, Amy White, Robin Bullock and Grammy-winner David Holt, this seasonal selection promises an evening of creative Celtic, American roots and world-influenced melodies to dazzle locals and visitors alike. The Asheville tradition, reflecting the heritage of its hills, spreads a peaceful, united and uplifting message, perfect for the holiday season.

This year’s event features two performances at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Sunday, December 16 at Diana Wortham Theatre.

You can also help fight homelessness this holiday season by bringing supplies to support those who are served through Homeward Bound of WNC. Drop off items from this online list at the collection points in the DWT lobby any time before, during, or after the A Swannanoa Solstice performances on Dec. 16. Due to limited lobby space, please take larger items such as furniture directly to the donation center.

Homeward Bound of WNC is a social impact nonprofit committed to ending homelessness in Asheville and Buncombe County. The agency moves our homeless neighbors into housing as a first step, then offers the right level of support they need to stay there – permanently.

To purchase tickets for the performances of A Swannanoa Solstice (regular $45; student $40; child $20; student rush, day-of-the-show with valid I.D. $10), call the theater’s box office at 828-257-4530 or visit www.dwtheatre.com.
