City of Hendersonville Hosts Public Session on Seventh Avenue Streetscape

The Downtown Economic Development Department will host the first in a series of stakeholder sessions designed to provide information about and opportunity for feedback on the first phase of a planned Seventh Avenue Streetscape Design & Construction Project. The initial session is scheduled for Thursday evening, Nov. 8, at 5:30 pm. The session will be held at the main conference room in the City Operations Center at 305 Williams Street.

The session will include a brief overview from Lew Holloway of the proposed project timeline and broad project parameters, including location of Phase I improvements. The firm of Watermark Landscape Architecture will then present comparable examples and case studies of the design features that will be used to guide and refine their process during initial design development.

Noting that the downtown program “looks forward to kicking off an interactive design process for the Seventh Avenue Streetscape,” Mr. Holloway shared that, “This major infrastructure investment represents an exciting opportunity to continue to fuel the revitalization of the Seventh Avenue District.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about the project, timeline and get a sense of the overall goals for the project. Should you have any questions about this event, please contact Lew Holloway, Downtown Economic Development Director, at [email protected] or 828-233-3216.
