Music on Main’s 2018 Season

Music on Main Street concert in downtown Hendersonville.

Music on Main, the increasingly popular concert series, is returning to Downtown Historic Hendersonville this summer. The concerts will be held every Friday through August 17th.

The event is hosted by the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority at the Visitor Center at 201 South Main Street. Admission is free to the public.

Michael Arrowood, Event Coordinator for the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority, says Music on Main Street is an event the local community and summertime visitors really look forward to each year. “We start getting calls early in the spring, asking when the music will be held. It’s really a multigenerational event, very family-friendly. Bands mostly play rock oldies, beach music and soul from the ’50s through the ’80s—fun songs people love to dance to and that everyone knows. We’re bringing back many of the crowd’s favorite bands, along with some they haven’t seen in a few years.”

Cars shows are held every Friday evening in conjunction with Music on Main. The car shows alternate between classic cars and Corvette nights. The cars are located in front of the Visitor Center, between Allen Street and Caswell Street, which will be closed to traffic.

NOTICES FOR CONCERT-GOERS: Admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair. Concessions such hot dogs, ice cream, pretzels and lemonade are available for sale. The audience seating area opens after 5:30 p.m.; early admission is prohibited. Visitors should leave pets at home because city ordinances prohibit animals in the event area. No alcoholic beverages, backpacks or coolers are allowed. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be postponed until 8:00 p.m.; if the weather does not improve by that time, the performance will be cancelled.
