Fireworks shot from across a lake showing a reflection in the water.

The skies will soon be lighting up all over Hendersonville, Flat Rock, and Brevard for this year’s 4th of July celebrations.

Downtown Hendersonville Fireworks

Henderson County will launch an Independence Day fireworks display at sundown from South Grove Street. The fireworks can be viewed throughout downtown Hendersonville as well as the south side of town; if you’re able to see the “Big Red Balloon” that goes up during the day then you’ll have a good view for the fireworks! Visit for more information.

The evening is being held in conjunction with the Henderson County Parks & Recreation Department hosting a bluegrass concert featuring Lynn Goldsmith & the Jeter Mountain Band in front of the Historic Courthouse, along with games, face painting, craft corner, inflatables and food trucks, starting at 7:00 pm. The activities will be held between 1st Avenue to Allen Street. Concessions will be available.

Enjoy the free concert and fireworks from the comfort of your chair at Music on Main from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. The sparkling fireworks display starts around 9:30 pm, which will be synchronized to music on local radio station WTZQ, found at 1600 AM on the dial. Additional Music on Main seating will be available between Allen & Caswell Streets to provide social distancing. Concessions available.

The Independence Day Parade in downtown Hendersonville will be on Saturday, July 3, beginning at 10:30 am. The parade will span from Caswell Street to 6th Avenue. The parade has a new route that runs from south to north and spectators should line Main Street from Caswell to 6th Avenue to view the parade. Main Street from its southern intersection with King Street to 6th Avenue will close at 8 am with no parking permitted along the parade route starting at 8 am. Traffic will still be able to traverse the avenues until 10 am when they will close in preparation for event.

Please note that the Brevard College Campus will be closed to community fireworks viewers this year, but you will be able to watch the display from all other areas you have watched in the past.
