Spartan Photo Center is a full service traditional and digital camera store that is family owned and has served the Carolinas for more than thirty years. The store stocks a wide range of film, digital cameras, lenses, darkroom equipment, and more from companies such as Canon, Leica, Mamiya, Nikon, Olympus, and Pentax. Their PhotoLab produces professional-quality photo prints, stretched canvases, t-shirts, mugs, photo books, passport photos, and studio portraits.
The AVMRC has two free open house’s every week that have been enjoyed by grandparents and grandchildren, as well as kids of all ages for over 2 decades. We offer two operating model RR’s with our inside HO scale layout having 2,000 feet of track. Our new outside layout is a larger G scale. Kids can run a Thomas or Emily train while there. Additionally, we have many historic pictures and items about railroads on display. The Depot is open to the public Saturday from 10 AM until 2 PM and Wednesday afternoon from 1 PM to 3 PM. Admission is free!

Connemara Farms was the home where the famous poet and writer Carl Sandburg spent the last 22 years of his life. The National Park Service offers guided house tours, bookstore, video’s, hiking, and visits to historic goat farm.

Hendersonville, as a small community, can be proud that it has its very own symphony orchestra. As a symphony orchestra, we not only perform a six-concert season, we also make a significant contribution to the community by providing performance opportunities, scholarships and musical enrichment and education programs for the young people of the area.
As Western North Carolina’s all-inclusive art group for over 25 years, the Art League of Henderson County fosters, encourages, and develops public appreciation of all forms of visual arts. ALHC offers art classes and workshops through their Art Education Initiative. Non-members can participate. ALHC members can show their artwork at monthly rotating shows at the Henderson County Public Library and at special exhibits throughout the county. Meeting and workshop scheduled are available on the Art League Website.
The concerts are every Friday evening from June until August at the Visitors Information Center, located at 201 South Main Street in Hendersonville, NC. Music On Main Street showcases a diverse lineup of musical talents, from pop, oldies, beach, rock, blues, to contemporary music. Put on your dancing shoes and head to Music On Main Street for some good toe tapping tunes, where there is a dance area in front of the stage.

Bullington Gardens, once the nursery of Bob Bullington, is a public botanical garden on 12 acres of rolling land providing hands-on education in horticulture and other sciences to students, youth clubs and adults. These gardens incorporate some of the many unusual mature trees that Mr. Bullington collected and introduced to the area. Visitors are welcome to visit and enjoy the gardens and facilities.
