Information

Western Carolina Rescue Ministries
(WCRM) will host their annual “Walk Humbly Foot Care Clinic”. This year will mark the 21 st
year of the foot care clinic. Clients will have their feet washed and cared for, as well as receive
shoes, socks and foot care products. “This event allows the community to shower our neighbors
with unconditional love and gives us the opportunity to show love in an extraordinary way to
people we serve on a daily basis.” says Micheal Woods, Executive Director.
For many homeless individuals, walking is often the only means of transportation. Without
adequate shoes, mobility is severely limited. In addition to providing comfort and protection
from the environment, shoes help prevent a variety of foot related medical ailments. Having a
good pair of shoes often results in an enhanced quality of life and improved self-confidence. In
some cases, this has led to employment and bettered living conditions.
The event takes place at WCRM located at 225 Patton Avenue. Volunteers from AdventHealth,
Appalachian Mountain Health, Biltmore Church, First Baptist Church Burnsville, Redeemer
Anglican Church, and WCRM will join us this year. Following the event, WCRM will prepare and
serve its annual Easter Banquet from 4:30-5:30pm. This meal is completely free of charge and
will consist of a traditional Easter dinner prepared by the Rescue Mission’s Chef and served by
volunteers of Western Carolina Rescue Ministries.
