Economic Investment Fund Awarded Community Foundation Grant

The Economic Investment Fund of Henderson County (EIF), an affiliate of the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, has been awarded a grant of $10,000 by the Community Foundation of Henderson County.

The grant will be utilized to enhance the Made in Henderson County program, a coordinated effort to connect manufacturing employers, the Henderson County Public School System and students. Since its inception in 2012, the program has showcased manufacturing careers to over 5,000 students.

EIF Chair Chip Gould stated, “The grant from the Community Foundation will provide needed resources to improve industrial tours, develop career readiness workshops for students, and ultimately to connect our local students with great employment and earning opportunities.”

EIF was founded in August 2016, with a primary focus on workforce development. The Made in Henderson County workforce program is focused on raising the visibility of manufacturing as a viable career path to ensure that Henderson County students have diverse employment opportunities in the community, and manufacturing businesses have access to skilled, local talent.

The Community Foundation of Henderson County, founded in 1983, supports charitable programs in the greater Henderson County area.
