Kiwanis Club of Hendersonville Kicks Off 2022-2023 Club Year

For more than one hundred years, the Kiwanis Club of Hendersonville has been serving the children and youth of Henderson County.

As the premier international service organization dedicated to changing the world, one child at a time, this local hometown service club supports the following projects: a Shoes and Socks program that provides these much-needed items to children in our community. Due to a longstanding partnership with Sherman’s Sports and Army Store on Main Street in Downtown Hendersonville, any dollars raised or gifted to support this initiative goes further.

Additionally, Service Leadership Programs such as K-Kids Clubs for elementary students, Builders Clubs to serve middle school aged students and Key Clubs serving high school aged students exist in a number of our schools supporting and encouraging the next generation of Kiwanians.

The local Kiwanis Club also supports an Aktion Club serving adults with disabilities. Additionally, the Kiwanis Club hosts the annual pancake breakfast that serves as a kickoff event for the yearly NC Apple Festival held each Labor Day Weekend.

These efforts would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of the 2022- 2023 Club Officers and Board Members:

President-Ty Keplinger
President Elect-Jamie Wiener
Vice President-Neal Sutker
Past President-Tom Murrill
Secretary-Vickie Ewing
Treasurer-Rachel Buchanan

Special thanks go to Past President Tom Murrill who led the club through the 2021-2022 Club Year and Secretary Sam Tolbert for faithfully managing club operations. Thank you, Tom and Sam, for your unwavering commitment and dedication to the work of our organization.

A long-standing tradition within the club is to not only serve and share the Kiwanis spirit locally but to serve on the district level as well. The group is pleased to congratulate Erika McGilley, Past Kiwanis Club President on her service as District Lieutenant Governor.
