To reflect new direction and leadership, one of Hendersonville’s oldest continuously producing theaters is entering its 56th season with a new name: Hendersonville Theater (HT).

“Still run by volunteers, Hendersonville Theatre will continue to inspire, nurture, enrich, empower, educate, entertain and challenge artists and audiences with theatrical productions that range from the classics to new works.” said Janice Guazzo, HT’s President. “We will also support the next generation of theatre artists, and to provide arts education programs that promote life-long learning to a diverse community.”

“This pandemic has spurred a much needed reorganization and change of board leadership for the theatre,” Guazzo added. “We are returning to the roots of this organization. Our current board of directors is dedicated to carrying on the theatre legacy, as well as creating new programs and community outreach.”

During the 2022 season, theatre-goers can expect a varied range of quality plays and musicals. Season tickets run $80 to $120, and go on sale November 26. Season tickets and gift certificates are available online at HendersonvilleTheatre.orgor by calling the Box Office at (828) 692-1082. Single tickets will go on sale February 1, 2022.

Area businesses and individuals are also invited to sponsor upcoming Hendersonville Theatre productions. Sponsorship includes opportunities for logo exposure, client entertainment, employee engagement, access to new customers and an opportunity to display civic leadership in the community. Businesses can sponsor a show or the entire season, or provide an in-kind donation for advertising or sponsorship. Sponsorships start at $100.

“Our diverse audience of approximately 10,000 patrons and volunteers each season makes us the ideal partner in reaching local markets,” said Guazzo. “Our audience supports businesses committed to the arts in their community. Our playbills are read from cover to cover and often taken home and kept as a souvenir.”

“Breathing new life into a 56-year old organization is a challenge,” said Victoria Lamberth, Artistic Director, “but I believe we’ve chosen a crowd-pleasing season with something for everyone in Western North Carolina.”
