BrightFarms’ Hendersonville Greenhouse Set to Open in April 2021

Warning: Information you find on this page may be outdated or incorrect.

BrightFarms’ Hendersonville greenhouse is set to open in April 2021 and will be the largest and most technologically advanced indoor salad farm in the Southeast.

The facility will produce more than 2 million pounds of fresh and responsibly grown leafy greens each year for supermarkets throughout the Carolinas. The greens will show up on supermarket shelves as popular packaged salads like Spring Mix, Arugula, Spinach and unique BrightFarms varieties like Sunny Crunch.

Each item will show “Grown in Hendersonville, NC” on the front label.

With just a few short months until the opening, the site has transformed from an empty field of dirt into a model of sustainable and technologically advanced agriculture in the U.S.

And now, the company is ready to hire over 55 green-collar workers from the region! To get the word out, it is planning a job fair on February 12th, 15th, and 16th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm where interested applicants can set up appointments to apply in person.

Some of the open positions are:

  • Seeding & Transplant Crew: Bringing the greens to life in the first phase of the operation.

  • Harvest Crew: Harvesting the greens and getting them ready for packaging.

  • Packaging Crew: Packing the greens and getting them ready to be shipped to supermarkets.

  • Drivers: Delivering our products to customers.

  • Management: Supervisors to manage key components of the operation.

  • Administrative Assistants: Tasks that span the entire operation, such as: human resources & payroll, vendor management and customer billing.

What’s exciting about these jobs? You will be working for a leading food company that’s changing the way Americans eat. The company is on a mission to provide more people with access to fresher, tastier and more responsibly grown local produce, and you will play an important role in making that happen. Employees will be trained to operate cutting-edge greenhouse technology. As more U.S. agricultural production moves into greenhouses, these jobs will provide workers with a valuable skillset to compete for jobs in the food sector.
