The Henderson County Tailgate Market is ready once again to celebrate the beloved tomato during the 15th Annual Tomato Festival on Saturday, August 10.

Every year, nearly 3,000 acres of this tasty fruit are grown across the Tar Heel state, with North Carolina ranking seventh nationally in tomato production. Henderson County helps lead the way as tomatoes are packed and shipped for fresh use.

On Saturday, August 10, 2019, about 30 farmers and vendors will offer a variety of Henderson County fresh tomatoes and more.  Come grab a free tomato sandwich, listen to some tunes, and have your photo taken with Tommie Tomato! Growers will also offer a variety of fresh produce, eggs, seafood, pork, flowers, plantings, honey, baked goods, natural beauty products, artisan handcrafted iron, and wood products.

The Henderson County Tailgate Market opened in 1979 featuring fresh county grown produce.  It is one of the oldest and most successful open air markets in Western North Carolina.  Located in downtown Hendersonville at 100 North King Street, the market is open to the public every Saturday, rain or shine, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm through October 26, 2019.
