Henderson County Chamber Announces Small Business Leader Awards

The Henderson County Chamber of Commerce recently awarded the Small Business Leader of the Quarter awards for the first and second quarters of 2018 at Business After Hours in late August.

The first quarter award was presented to Big Frog T-Shirts, Mr. David Riddell. Big Frog was selected not only for excellence in business but for Mr. Riddell’s commitment to giving back to the Henderson County community.

Mr. Riddell is involved with both the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce – serving as an ambassador, and the Fletcher Area Business Association. His willingness to give both his time and goods to benefit the community, while growing his business, embodies the spirit of the business community of Henderson County.

The second quarter award was given to to Hubba Hubba Smokehouse, Mr. Starr Teel. Hubba Hubba has long been a staple of this community, but Mr. Teel’s dedication to many areas of our community, but most notably our youth and the summer camps, sets him and his business apart.

Mr. Teel has done immense work both independent of and through Camplify (which provides scholarships to area kids who could not otherwise attend summer camp) to ensure that summer camps are available to the youth of Henderson County. His investment in the future leaders of our community does not go unnoticed, nor unappreciated.

Congratulations to each of these businesses!
