GreenToy to Open Region’s First Used Hybrid and Electric Car Dealership

GreenToy, the first and only hybrid and electric used car dealership in Western North Carolina, will open in Asheville at 5 London Road this summer.

Offerings will include the Toyota Prius, Ford Fusion, Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Honda Civic Hybrid, and the all-electric Tesla, in addition to many other hybrid and electric vehicles on the market.

GreenToy will specialize in high-quality, almost-new vehicles at a great price, with an unprecedented “one week or 150 mile, no-questions-asked” refund policy. Every GreenToy car will undergo a proprietary 100-point inspection, including the vehicle’s brakes, steering, drivetrain, battery, tires, body, interior, and many other components, and will come with a valid North Carolina inspection.

For the Long Haul

With proper maintenance, today’s modern hybrid cars can easily rack up well over 200,000 miles. In fact, Toyota reports that 90% of all Toyota Prius models sold over the last 10 years are still on the road. It’s not surprising, then that U.S. News & World Report has called the Toyota Prius “the Best Hybrid Car for the Money,” and recently IntelliChoice named Prius a “Lowest Operating Costs Winner,” as well as a “SmartChoice Maintenance Costs Winner.”

GreenToy will primarily carry Prius hybrids from the second, third, and fourth generations.  As typical with previously owned cars- mileage, age, and trim will vary. All GreenToy cars will be affordably priced and in excellent condition.

Better Fuel Efficiency

By using both a conventional engine and electric motor, hybrids like the Prius achieve significantly better fuel efficiency than their non-hybrid counterparts. They also pollute less and save drivers money through fuel savings—which is why they’re also considered among the cleanest cars on the road today.

As for the size, Priuses have a small footprint, but once you put the seats down, they are spacious and roomy. The smaller size also makes city parking a breeze.

Down the Road

GreenToy will feature between 30 and 40 hybrid and electric cars for sale on an ongoing basis. A custom art mural by Brushcan—creators of the some of the most recognizable murals and hand-painted signs in Asheville—will wrap around the building, and native landscaping will surround the property. A tree-shaded outdoor area alongside the creek will offer customers a pleasant place to relax, and GreenToy is looking at adding some sculptures, which will fit right into the funky, artistic London Road neighborhood.

Looking ahead, GreenToy has plans to support local environmental groups, and eventually, they hope to convert their space to solar energy. Long-term, the company envisions opening other regional locations in the southeast, and keeping their flagship store in Asheville.
