8th Annual Open Studio Tour of Henderson County

The doors to thirty-six Henderson County art studios will swing open to welcome guests in the 8th annual Open Studio Tour from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, September 23-24.

This all-volunteer effort showcases the work of local artists in painting, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, fiber and metal arts, woodworking, and glass. All proceeds from art sold during the weekend are retained by the artists.

The weekend festivities kick off, as always, with a free Preview Party on Thursday evening as part of the Rhythm & Brews celebration on Main Street in Downtown Hendersonville. Backup Planet, a progressive funk-rock band based out of Nashville, is the headliner. Elements of jazz, funk, roots, blues, electronic and progressive rock all emerge during the course of their shows. At the Preview Party guests can sample all the artists’ work in one place and help raise money for the Backpack Program in Henderson County with an art raffle. The good times roll at 5:00 p.m.

The Open Studio Tour of Henderson County raises public awareness of the practicing and accomplished artists in the community. In addition to enhancing the cultural image of Henderson County, the Tour boosts the local economy through the arts – more than 30% attendees, many who return year after year, visit from outside the county. Open Studio “tourists” get to experience not just art but the nooks and crannies of beautiful Henderson County as they travel from studio to studio.

The free driving tour takes place rain or shine. To help plan your Tour four-color guide booklets are available online and at the following locations:
