NOTE: Pre-Race Day Packet Pick Up on Friday May 24, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:00 on the Plaza between the Aethelwold Building and Quixote restaurant (between 23 and 43 S. Broad Street in downtown Brevard).

5K After May 22, 2019 – $30 with no shirt
Fun Run – short $10 (Families and children – short fun run – no shirt after May 22, 2019)
Race day – After 7.30am you will be able to register for the race with cash – however, you will not be in the results system and will not be eligible for prizes. You will probably have to wait for a shirt as well.
DETAILS
It promises to be one of our largest in terms of racers (around 410 at the starting gate) and we hope one of the best in terms of fund-raising for Community Charities (we project in excess of $22,000 across all three races, thanks in no small part to our sponsors).
It is going to be hot – really hot – so please bring water. Lots of water.
We have water stations in a few places – “so take the water” – and Fire Department staff in five positions around the course. BUT RUN SMART AND STOP AND ASK FOR HELP IF YOU FEEL FEINT.

If we don’t have your shirt size, my apologies – we have almost twice the runners from last year and guessing the numbers in each category, three weeks ago was clearly above my pay grade.

Karin Strickland will be taking free professional photos of you on the other side of the Start line, so go and have your picture taken at no cost. Please try and avoid her at the start as she will be on a ladder.
The 5K will go off at 8.00 am and the fun run will start immediately thereafter.
We do have some teams running probably together so be ready for bunches of runners. Also be aware that the roads in some places are uneven.

EVENT DETAILS AND SCHEDULE: The 2019 White Squirrel Festival 5K Race and Fun Run coincides with the 2019 White Squirrel Festival in downtown Brevard, North Carolina. Brevard is 151 this year!
The race course starts and finishes in downtown Brevard near the Post Office on West Main Street. The course will treat runners to a mix of historic homes, the railroad arts district, farm land and the scenic beauty of the Sylvan Valley and the surrounding mountains.
The 2019 White Squirrel Festival Race and Fun Run begins at 8am. Same day registration begins at 6.30 am.
The race begins on West Main Street near the Post Office. The race course is an out and back, with the starting line also serving as the finish line.

After the Race and Fun Run:
The White Squirrel Race is the kick-off event for the White Squirrel Festival. After the Race and Fun Run, music, food, dancing, children’s fun games, tours, crafts, art and much more fill the cool mountain air in one of the picturesque towns in western NC.
