Hendersonville introduces its first restaurant week, March 15-24, featuring an impressive variety of restaurants across the county.
The 10-day event encourages locals and visitors to explore area eateries via prix fixe, multicourse menus. Participating restaurants run the gamut from fine dining to upscale casual to innovative tasting room food trucks.
“The dining scene in Hendersonville is growing, so this is the restaurants’ time to shine,” says organizer Laura Huff. “It’s a great way for restaurants to share favorite dishes or new items.”
With prix fixe lunch menus available for $10 or $15, and prix fixe dinner menus for $20, $30 or $35, Hendersonville Restaurant Week allows diners to check out new restaurants and sample a variety of dishes without making a large investment.
Participating restaurants include: Bold Rock Hard Cider, Brooks Tavern, Flat Rock Wood Room, Hannah Flanagan’s, Never Blue, Old Orchard Tavern, Postero, Season’s at Highland Lake and The Dugout Taproom & Grill.
Special events are also scheduled during Restaurant Week, including BBQ dinners, a Sunday Brunch, and Pint Night at Bold Rock Mills River where $1 from every pint sold will be donated to non-profit Dandelion.
“Events like this help make people aware that this area has a lot to offer,” says Peter Fassbender, director of food and beverage at Season’s. “It’s also a nod to local farmers and growers that their product is first class and we’re glad we can showcase it.”
Several lodging partners will offer special rates or packages during Hendersonville Restaurant Week, such as stay two nights and get a third night free.
“It really is a community-building event,” Huff says. “Hendersonville is so inviting, people rarely only go out to dinner. They come to town early and walk and shop, or they go to dinner and then go to a show at Flat Rock Playhouse.”
A portion of Restaurant Week proceeds will benefit Dandelion, the job-training cafe in downtown Hendersonville for Safelight, a nonprofit that assists victims of domestic violence.
