YWCA Tribute to Women of Influence on March 25


The The YWCA of hendersonville is pleased to announce the Honorees for 19th Annual YWCA Tribute to Women of Influence (TWIN) Awards Banquet. The TWIN Awards Banquet will be Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 6:00 pm at the Renaissance Hotel.

TWIN honors the professional achievements of women in the community. That evening, the YWCA will celebrate all of the TWIN 2010 Honorees. In addition, one woman will receive special recognition as “Honoree of the Year”. Special this year, Wilma Sherrill will be given the “Director’s Choice Award” presented by Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. The Honorary Chair of TWIN 2010 is Maria Roloff, TWIN 2009 Honoree of the Year. The emcee will be Jerri Jameson, News Director, Clear Channel hendersonville.

Proceeds from the event will benefit YWCA programs that bridge gaps in education, health care, child care and earning power. The mission of the YWCA of hendersonville is eliminating racism and empowering women. Tickets are $60 per person, or $480 for a table of eight and can be purchased at www.ywcaofhendersonville.org or by calling 254-7206 x 206.

The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women. They have eight programs that bridge gaps in education, health care, child care and earning power. These programs include a Child Care Center, School-Age Program (After-School and Summer Camp), FutureVision (drop-out prevention for middle and high schoolers), MotherLove (mentoring for teen moms), New Choices (support for displaced homemakers), Preventive Health/Diabetes Wellness, Aquatics and Club W: Health & Fitness Center. The YWCA has been in hendersonville since 1906. They serve approximately 6,000 people a year.
