Hands On!, the children’s museum located in downtown Hendersonville, is expecting! Thanks to Park Ridge Hospital, Hands On! will officially open their Baby Place exhibit on Friday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children will have the opportunity to provide well-baby care for newborn baby dolls, using baby books, strollers and diapers. They can also play lullabies from around the world as they rock their little ones to sleep.“With the addition of the world-class Baby Place at Park Ridge Hospital, and the generous support they have given Hands On! since the inception of this children’s museum, the addition of the Park Ridge Baby Place is a perfect fit,” said Heather Boeke, executive director of Hands On!. “This exhibit will primarily focus on a child’s social and emotional development, with attention to fine motor skills and language development as well.” Along with the normal day-time activities at Hands On!, the exhibit’s grand opening on March 19 will include special activities, like a special visit from Park Ridge nurses, refreshments, coloring books and crayons – while supplies last. Admission for the day is $5 per person for non-members and free for Hands On! members. Also adding to the festivities, the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon to celebrate the exhibits grand opening. The mission of Hands On! is to serve the needs of children and families by providing educational exhibits that stimulate the imagination and motivate learning in a fun, safe “Hands On!” environment.
