Diamond Brand has joined Park Ridge Hospital to aid in the hospital’s Haiti relief efforts. The hospital has asked for the support of the community to help collect 2,000 yoga mats, roll-up camping mats or camping sleep pads to bring to Haiti when a team of Park Ridge physicians, nurses and support staff arrive there later this week, accompanied by a large shipment of medical supplies.Diamond Brand will serve as an additional drop-off location for the sleeping mats that will accompany the Park Ridge team. The store, located at 2623 Hendersonville Rd. in Arden, is also offering 30 percent-off on any regular priced item with each donated mat. Donated items can also be dropped off at the Park Ridge Hospital main registration desk, or can be mailed to the hospital (100 Hospital Drive, Hendersonville, NC 28792). Park Ridge is hoping to receive 2,000 mats before their medical team leaves at the end of this week, but both the hospital and Diamond Brand will be collecting mats for the next several weeks to send in additional shipments to Haiti. Those who are interested in making a monetary contribution instead can bring their donation to the Park Ridge main registration desk between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., or can visit the hospital’s Web site, www.parkridgehospital.org, for more information and to make a donation.
