Few spots in the North Carolina mountains rival the pristine beauty of Lake Lure. Located just south of Chimney Rock, NC, Lake Lure has seen many generations of families spend old-fashioned summers playing in the sun, swimming on the beach or at the Bottomless Pools, and boating on the waters of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. For visitors to this serene, little mountain lake who don’t have access to a boat and seem destined to a landlocked stay, Lake Lure Tours is the perfect answer to the no-boat problem. Lake Lure Tours, located at the Beach at Lake Lure, offers a wide variety of lake tours onboard one of their “fleet” of comfortable pontoon boats, a familiar sight on the lake for many years now. Lake Lure Tours offers hourly tours out on the water, plus some very lovely and quieter cruises, such as their Twilight Tour, Evening Champagne Cruise, and Dinner Cruise. While the daytime hourly tours do not require reservations, the tour company strongly suggests reservations for the twilight cruise; reservations are required for the dinner and champagne cruises. On June 3, a two-hour full moon cruise will depart at 9 PM for a nighttime view of Lake Lure and the surrounding mountains. The cost is $15 per person, and reservations are required; guests are encouraged to bring refreshments for this peaceful, evening tour.
