Hendersonville’s Historic Downtown Shopping District will once again host a St. Patrick’s festival that celebrates Western North Carolinas rich Irish heritage. The event is family friendly with a full schedule of activities. Remember that in March everyone is a wee bit Irish! The festival begins Saturday, March 13th at 10 am with the March of the Leprechauns Parade. The parade will follow the traditional downtown parade route. Our goal is to have hundreds of leprechauns marching the streets and we invite everyone to participate in the parade. Main Street access will be closed during the parade only. There is no fee to participate in the parade, although a parade application must be completed. Parade applications are available on our website at www.DowntownHendersonville.org. The deadline for applications is March 5. All church, civic, school, commercial or family groups are encouraged to participate in the parade. The theme of the parade and festival is March of the Leprechauns. For information about the March of the Leprechauns, contact Karen Shirlin, Executive Director, at (828) 697-2022.
