To date, over 4,000 girls in the community have benefited from their programs. The goal of Girls on the Run is to empower girls early in their lives to find strength and courage from within and draw upon it as they face the challenges of adolescence and adulthood. Their mission is educating and preparing girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.

Here are just a few reasons why you should donate:

* They provide scholarships to 59% of their participants each session representing more than $37,000 each year! Many girls and families cannot even afford to pay the minimum fee of $30.
* This year 1,292 girls participated in their program at 62 program sites in their 12-county service region.
* They have programs in only 30% of the 127 public elementary and middle schools in WNC - this doesn't include churches, community centers, YMCAs, private schools or other site locations.
* They have 3 part-time employees and over 1300 volunteers who serve as coaches, running buddies, board members, and on Action Teams.
