Carl Sandburg Home’s Goat Barn to Receive Renovations

Andrew Mundhenk of Times-News Online recently reported on the upcoming goat barn renovations at the Carl Sandburg Home. The renovations will require the historic structure to be lifted off the ground.

“Foundation and structural work on the goat barn, the neighboring horse barn and the isolation quarters is set to start by the end of the month, according to Park Superintendent Tyrone Brandyburg. While the goat barn will be off limits during the process, visitors will still be able to see the goats during kidding season.

‘There are some foundation issues that we have at the bottom of the barn,’ Brandyburg said. ‘There’s also some structural issues that we have that will need to be reinforced.'”
