Miss Hendersonville Scholarship Pageant

Organizers of the Miss Hendersonville Scholarship Pageant are calling for contestants to compete for the Miss Hendersonville 2017 crown.

The gala event on Jan. 28, 2017 will be held at Flat Rock Playhouse, Flat Rock NC.

Young women ages 17 to 23 are invited to enter to compete for the title of Miss Hendersonville 2017, a subsidiary of the annual Miss America Pageant.

Miss Hendersonville 2017 will be eligible to compete in the 80th Miss North Carolina Pageant in June 2017 in Raleigh, whose winner will then compete in the Miss America 2018 Pageant held in Atlantic City, NJ.

Women living, working or attending school in Henderson County invited to enter.

The Miss Hendersonville Pageant is an all-volunteer organization, and proceeds of its fund-raising efforts go into the scholarship fund that is awarded to Miss Hendersonville and runners-up. The pageant is part of the Miss America Organization, one of the nation’s leading achievement programs that provide scholarship assistance to young women.

Contestants will compete in the categories of private interview, swimsuit, talent, evening wear, and will answer an on-stage question. They will also be expected to complete a service project of their own choosing.

During her reign, Miss Hendersonville 2017 will take part in community service projects as well as participating in fundraising for the Miss America Organization’s charitable work on behalf of the Children’s Miracle Network.

Part of the program will include a competition for Blue Ridge Valley’s Outstanding Teen. The winner will appear with Miss Hendersonville at the Miss North Carolina Pageant in Raleigh. The Outstanding Teen competition is open to young ladies ages 13 to 16 who live Henderson County and surrounding areas. Teens will compete in private interview, physical fitness, talent, evening wear, and will answer an on-stage question.

Women living outside of the Henderson County radius are invited to compete for other titles awarded, Miss Asheville 2017 and Miss Blue Ridge Valley 2017.
