Brevard Music Center Presents Free Winter Community Concerts

To share music with the community beyond its summer festival season, Brevard Music Center is proud to announce its presentation of free community concerts this January and February.

At 3 PM on January 31, trombonist David Jackson will be joined by baritone Daniel Washington and pianist Amy I-Lin Cheng for a delightful performance of chamber music at the Sundays with BMC concert in the Reuter Center on the campus of UNC Asheville. On Monday, February 1 at 12:30 PM, the trio will perform at the First Mondays concert in Scott Concert Hall at The Porter Center on the Brevard College Campus. The musical program will include Sigismond Stojowski’s Fantasy, Adolphus Hailstork’s John Henry, Maurice Ravel’s Habanera, and Eric Ewazen’s Angel of Dreamers.

The popular recital series, which includes First Mondays and Sundays with BMC, is offered at no cost to the general public. First Mondays are held on the first Monday of each month from October through May. Sundays with BMC are held on the Sunday preceding the first Monday of each month. Each Brevard concert also features a local charity highlighting the needs of the community. February’s local charity partner is Transylvania Habitat for Humanity.
