School Board Member and Alum Recognized for Philanthropy

We’re proud to have philanthropists leading and emerging from our schools, like school board member Amy Lynn Holt and West Henderson High grad Megan Raxter!

Holt and her husband, Ritchie, and Raxter were recently recognized at the 24th Annual WNC National Philanthropy Day Celebration for their service to their communities.

The Holts received the Outstanding Business in Philanthropy award on behalf of Champion Comfort Experts, their heating and air-conditioning company that’s served Western North Carolina since 2004.

Raxter, a 2014 West Henderson graduate and current sophomore at UNC-Asheville, was named Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy. She volunteers with the Park Ridge Health Foundation, First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville, Girl Scouts of the USA, the Miss Hendersonville Program, and Prevent Child Abuse America. Raxter also serves on the Johnson Family Board of Trustees.
