Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra Presents “German Giants”

The Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra performs three of the most pivitol, historic works of the operatic, concerto, and symphonic canon on March 28th at 7:30 pm at the Blue Ridge Community College Conference Hall.

The performance include an overture to the first great German opera, Weber’s Der Freischütz, Mozart’s sublime final instrumental concerto, and Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 in c minor, a work 14 years in the making.

Guest artist clarinetist Steve Cohen has graced the stage for the past 35 seasons as Principal Clarinet of the Brevard Music Center Festival Orchestral.

Cohen inspired awe with his easy command of the concerto’s (Mozart) wide register leaps, his fluent scales and arpeggios in the finale and the suave, silken statement of the landmark melody in the Adagio.
