County Releases Profile of Statistical Information

The Henderson County Planning Department provides a profile of statistical information about the County and its surrounding jurisdictions each year.

The statistical brochure is released yearly, and updated every six months, based on information provided by the US Census Bureau and various sources including the municipal governments in Henderson County, County departments and NC State departments.

In comparing the County’s profile from last year, the figures are not too surprising. The public school enrollment in Henderson County decreased from the 2013-2014 school year to the 2014-2015 school year by 123 students. The homeschool enrollment in Henderson County increased from the previous year by 146 students. Private school enrollment increased by 16 from the previous year.

The County continues to see a decrease in unemployment by 1.1%. The total number of people unemployed has decreased by 538 since the fall of 2013. The total taxable retail sales increased by over 21 million from the Fiscal Year 2013, which represents a 2.4% increase.
