Atkinson Elementary Students Win Five Out of the Top Six In Poster Contest

Students at Atkinson Elementary submitted artwork for the Careers in Agriculture 4-H Poster Contest.

The contest was sponsored by the Henderson County Cooperative Extension and the Apple Country Antique Engine and Tractor Association.

The posters were on display at the Farm City Day held at Jackson Park on October 4, 2014.

Miller Sparks, “Christmas Tree Farmer” and Natalie Connet, “Riding Instructor” both tied for first place and each student received a $20 gift card.

Madelyn Hill, “Veterinarians” was a second place winner and received a $15 gift card.

Emily Fogo, “Small Scale Chicken Hatchery” and Rory McDonald, “Free Range Pig Farming” each finished in third place and received a $10 gift card.

The Careers in Agriculture 4-H Poster Contest allows students to explore a variety of agriculture careers to investigate and learn more about a career in agriculture that interests them.
