The French Broad River has a rich history that dates back before the Native American Settlements and the formation of the Appalachian Mountains. It is the 3rd Oldest River in the world, flowing 210 miles through the Western North Carolina Mountains. She is home to a variety of birds, native flora, and diverse fish species. The French Broad Begins her journey at the door steps of Headwaters Outfitters in the quite town of Rosman NC.
The beauty of this county and free flowing waters of the French Broad attracts paddlers and outdoorsmen of all skill levels. Although the famous Mountain Biking trails of Pisgah National Forest might have been the driving force behind Dale bringing his Oskar Blues Brewery to this county, the crew at Oskar Blues quickly found the peaceful free flowing water of the French Broad to be a gem.
Paddlers can bring their own boats and outfitting or be fully outfitted by Headwaters Outfitters. The tour will meet at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard by 5:30pm. We will depart for the river by 5:50pm. Enjoy a 2 Hour Scenic Paddle on the French Broad, great for all skill levels and return to the Brewery at 8:15pm for a Brewery Tour.
All guest must be 21 years of age or older. Price includes shuttle/outfitting only. Does not include beer and/or tips for River Host and Bartenders.
