Big Brothers/ Big Sisters has a mission to develop children's self esteem and character through volunteer mentoring programs and friendships to help them achieve their highest potential.

Boy Scouts of America serves others by helping to instill values in young people, and in other ways to prepare them to make ethical choices during their lifetime in achieving their full potential. The values we strive to instill are based on those found in the Scout Oath and Law.

Boys and Girls Club mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to achieve their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Girl Scouts of WNC mission is to inspire girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism and service that they may become happy and resourceful citizens.

Henderson County 4-H helps youth to grow and develop through learn-by-doing experiences that are developmentally appropriate, positive, cooperative, and experiential. Four-H promotes teaching of essential life skills that will give young people tools to help them become copetent, caring and contributing leaders as they progress into adulthood. Nurturing Parenting Program The Program works with at-risk families with children 0-5 years old to guide them in replacing abusive behavior patterns with acceptable nurturing patterns.
